As part of a ward refurbishment program of works across our client’s estate, our team has been designing and delivering schemes in accordance to the organisation’s specific standards. Followed across all hospital sites, these standards are granting them their identity and branding, and are offering them efficiencies across the board from staffing to purchasing and maintenance.

Working within existing fabric constraints, we are always presented with challenges requiring careful balancing of the clinical brief requirements, budget and time-scales to deliver the scheme successfully addressing all stakeholders objectives.

The challenges that make the project a success are often details concealed within the finished scheme. For example, in this project, the need for clinical wash hand basins to be installed into all bedrooms, required the doors to be moved along the structural corridor walls with timely and costly specialist propping.
